In this Privacy Policy, “personal data” means information that can be used to identify an individual, whether from that information alone or from other information about that individual that we have access to. We collect personal and non-personal data necessary to enable and facilitate the best possible user experience. We will use this information strictly in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

What information is collected and how do we process it?

1.Types of personal data collected

The purpose of collecting personal information is to provide you with products and/or services and to ensure that we comply with applicable laws, regulations and other regulatory requirements.

You have the right to choose whether to provide the information we request, but in most cases, if you do not provide your personal information, we may not be able to provide you with our products or services or respond to your enquiries.

Features and services that may require the collection of your personal information include:

Account

When registering a new account, you will need to provide an email address or a username to use as the account name and create a password. Your account information and password will be encrypted and stored on our servers.

During your interaction with our products, we may further collect your nickname, language preference or time zone information in your account.

After-sales service / feedback

When you use the feedback function in the Dream Application, we will collect your account information and feedback content in order to deal with your questions, problems and device failures in a timely manner.

2.Information you choose to provide to us

Location information

When you enable the location function of your mobile device through system authorisation and use location-based services, we will collect and use your precise location information so that you can use the Dream Application to configure and connect your smart device to your network.

When you use our astronomical time-based timer, based on your consent, we collect non-precise geolocation information about you.

You can turn off location services in your mobile device’s system settings to stop our collection of your location information.

Camera information

After enabling camera permissions, you can use this function to scan codes and take pictures or videos. Please note that even if you have enabled camera permissions, we will only obtain information when you actively use the camera to scan codes or capture images or videos.

You can turn off camera access in your mobile device’s system settings.

Photo/video access and upload of album (picture library/video library)

You can use this function to upload your photos, pictures or videos after enabling album permissions, for example to change your user avatar, device picture or scene picture, or to provide supporting information when reporting a device issue.

When you report a problem with your device, we may use the photos or images you upload to help diagnose and resolve the issue.

You can turn off album permissions in your mobile device’s system settings.

Bluetooth permissions

You can enable Bluetooth functions after enabling Bluetooth permissions, including device discovery, pairing and network configuration.

In these functions, we will communicate with terminal devices through Bluetooth. Please note that even if you have enabled Bluetooth permissions, we will only use Bluetooth communication in the following scenarios:

  • On the home page;
  • On the Add Device page for device discovery; and
  • During device network configuration.

You can turn off Bluetooth in your mobile device’s system settings.

Additional services based on storage permissions

We request this permission in order to ensure the stable operation of the Dream Application.

After you enable permission for us to read and write to your device storage, we may read or write necessary information, such as images and application crash logs, to your device storage in order to support app functionality, assist with troubleshooting, and maintain service reliability.

You understand and agree that the above additional services require you to enable location services, camera access, photo library access, storage permissions and Bluetooth permissions on your device.

These permissions enable the collection and use of information associated with these permissions. You may review and manage these permissions individually within your device settings and choose whether to enable or disable them.

Please note that when you enable any permission, you authorise us to collect and use the relevant personal information necessary to provide the corresponding service. If you disable a permission, we will no longer collect or use the related personal information for that purpose. As a result, some features or services may no longer be available.

Your decision to disable a permission will not affect any collection or use of information that occurred before the permission was withdrawn.
